Community

GoldLinQ are a member of the Gold Coast community and are serious about the commitment to minimising the disruption and impact that a major infrastructure project can have on a community.

GoldLinQ has employed a number of Communications Officers, Place Managers and Community Relations Officers to be available to the community for any questions that might arise. Learn more about our Communications and Stakeholder Engagement team.

Business Advisory Group

As part of GoldLinQ’s commitment to working with the community, GoldLinQ manages a Business Advisory Group (BAG).The purpose of the BAG is to:

  • provide ideas and advice on community sentiment
  • facilitate community understanding by promoting the benefits of the project
  • provide feedback about the local impacts of construction
  • provide accurate information to the community
  • provide the project with perspectives from business

The BAG and GoldLinQ meet monthly to discuss project issues such as construction timing, traffic management, access restrictions, operation of the system and environmental management. Members of the BAG include representatives from the key institutions and/or organisations on the Stage One corridor.

The BAG is empowered by GoldLinQ to communicate project information to residents and businesses within their relevant precincts.

Precinct Advisory Groups

As part of GoldLinQ’s commitment to working with the community, GoldLinQ has formed three Precinct Advisory Groups (PAGs) to enable an exchange of information between the precincts and GoldLinQ. The three groups are as follows:

  • Southport PAG
  • Surfers Paradise PAG
  • Broadbeach PAG

The PAGs and GoldLinQ meet monthly to discuss project issues such as construction timing, traffic management, access restrictions, operation of the system and environmental management. Members of the PAGs include precinct business owners and managers.

The PAGs are empowered by GoldLinQ to communicate project information to residents and businesses within their relevant precincts.

If you could like to get in touch with your local PAG member please contact the Gold Coast light rail project hotline 1800 967 377* or email us at [email protected].
